In speaking module of IELTS, words to describe a person often come in handy.
When you have to talk about yourself, you need these words. If you are asked a question about your friends, or about going out in the evenings, and many more such questions in Part 1, you can casually say, "Well, I am an introvert. It takes me a while to make friends. And I find socializing a strenuous task."
Or
"Well, I am an extrovert. Love meeting new people and I have tons of friends. I enjoy going out and partying. I am actually a bit of a party animal."
These words, however, are especially useful in Part 2 of Speaking (Cue Card), when you are asked to talk about a person - a family member, a celebrity, or a sportsperson
Similarly, even when talking about an experience - a vacation, a party, or a childhood experience, you would need to talk about people, who were part of this experience, to make a good 2 minute answer. Ergo, vocabulary to describe a person.
I am including a list here that I will keep updating regularly. The key is to identify words that you are comfortable using. If you pick up a word that you are unfamiliar with, make sure you find out its exact meaning and pronunciation before using it.
When you do speak it during your speaking test, it should sound natural and not memorized.
Do leave a comment - about this post, or about what you else you would want me to write about.
